Library Assistants Jill Brennan, Ann Keeley and Frank Halligan are feeling a snip lighter today after taking part in a charity head shave for Macmillan Cancer support. They’ve already raised over £1,200 for the charity. Ann made it a family affair as her daughter Laura, who is a professional barber, did the shaving.

This started as an idea to run a Macmillan coffee morning and they’ve been selling cakes to staff and students today, but they wanted to do something more. As they say on their justgiving page “We have all known or know someone who has suffered from this terrible disease and this is our way of giving something back.”

It’s not too late to donate if you feel you are able and if you pop down to Aldham Robarts Library there might just be some cake left.
