Photo Friday: Swing baby swing

20140718 [Golf]The Open is now well under way at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, and this week’s Photo Friday from the Keith Medley Archive shows lady golfers at Hoylake in the 1960s.

This year is the twelfth time that Royal Liverpool Golf Club has hosted The Open Championship, the first occasion being in 1897 when it was won by Harold Hilton, and the most recent being 2006 when it was won by Tiger Woods.

The club was founded in 1869, built on what was then the racecourse of the Liverpool Hunt Club. Hoylake is the oldest of all the English seaside courses with the exception of Westward Ho! in Devon.
