Happy International Archives Day!

Today marks International Archives Day, started by the International Council on Archives in 2007. This year will be the 7th International Archives Day, and the date was chosen because the International Council on Archives was created under the auspices of UNESCO on 9th of June 1948.

The aim of the day is to raise public awareness of the importance of records and archives, and to showcase material housed in archival institutions across the world. For more information, and to see images from participating institutions (including LJMU), please visit http://www.internationalarchivesday.org/wordpress/
