Does Eric’s ring a bell (or perhaps a guitar)?? If so come and tell us…

Erics007…or maybe your thing was Merseybeat? Frankie Vaughan? The Cavern? Share your musical memories and save them alongside The John Lennon Time Capsule!

As part of the In Other Words Festival Liverpool John Moores University are hosting an event called “Musical Memories of Merseyside”.

Everyone is invited to this event where we will gather your memories of music of Merseyside – spoken or written. You can also bring your old reviews, articles, programmes, badges or autographs to share. We will record these memories – and then have them placed alongside the John Lennon Time Capsule!

As part of the event there will be a background talk about the capsule which is held here at LJMU. There are only three of these capsules in existence – the others are in Tokyo and the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame in the USA. Due to be opened on 9 October 2040, it is engraved with the words “The dream is alive…if you want it!”

There will also be a chance to tour and discuss the photographs, posters, books, magazines and newspapers from our extensive archives of popular culture in the city.

And the event is free! So why not come and join us!

The event will in the Aldham Robarts LRC and run 4 times on:

Sat 27th April 10am-12.30pm and again at 2.00pm-4.30pm

Sat 11th May 10am-12.30pm and again at 2.00pm-4.30pm

To book your free ticket go to the Eventbrite site here
